For the past 10 days, we've been waiting with bated breath for BeyoncГ©'s Netflix documentary, Homecoming: A Film by BeyoncГ©, to hit the streaming giant after it was officially announced on April 7.

Now, it's finally here, and, in true BeyoncГ© fashion, the powerhouse singer has given us so much more than we ever could have hoped for.

Described on Netflix as an “intimate, in-depth look at Beyoncé's celebrated 2018 Coachella performance,” we already knew we were in for quite the musical treat, but the video footage goes far beyond her iconic performances to peek into her life off stage and behind closed doors.

Read on for five of the biggest revelations we learned about BeyoncГ©'s experiences as a mother.

1. Her Pregnancy Was a Surprise… Even to Her

In February 2017, Beyoncé set the internet ablaze with an epic pregnancy announcement-the snap was the most “liked” Instagram photo of the year-revealing that she and JAY-Z were not only expecting their second child, but expecting twins.

As it turns out, fans weren't the only ones blown away by the news. “I was supposed to do Coachella the year prior, but I got pregnant unexpectedly,” she said in the documentary. “And it ended up being twins which was even more of a surprise.”

BeyoncГ© ended up canceling her scheduled performance, but surely made it up for it the next year with Beychella.

2. Her Pregnancy Took a Major Toll on Her Body

For some women, the experience of being pregnant is a pure joy. For Beyoncé? Not so much. The singer said she underwent “an extremely difficult pregnancy.”

She developed high blood pressure and toxemia, or, as it's more commonly called today, preeclampsia-a condition WebMD defines as “a high level of protein in their urine and often also have swelling in the feet, legs and hands.” Left untreated, the condition can worsen and even become fatal.

"My body went through more than I knew it could," she said.

And things didn't get any easier when it came time for her little ones' arrival: “In the womb, one of my babies' hearts paused a few times, so I had to get an emergency C-section.”

3. Having Twins Changed Her Priorities

Once she finally welcomed son Sir and daughter Rumi, BeyoncГ© wasn't quite ready to get back to work.

“In the beginning, it was so many muscle spasms,” she revealed. “I had to rebuild my body from cut muscles… There were days that I thought I'd never be the same. I'd never be the same physically, my strength and endurance would never be the same.”

It wasn't just her body that was struggling to keep up with her old lifestyle, either-the singer wanted nothing more than to be with her kids. “Just internally, my body was not connected-my mind was not there. My mind wanted to be with my children.”

The musician was OK with not fitting into the mold of her former self, however. "I feel like I'm just a new woman in a new chapter of my life," she told the cameras. "I'm not even trying to be who I was.”

4. Even Bey Struggles with Work/Life Balance

The former Destiny's Child member may make it seem like she's pulling her fabulousness off without a second thought, but, as she revealed in Homecoming, creating new tunes and visual art, delivering countless unrivaled shows, and being a wife and parenting three young children isn't exactly a walk in the park. In fact, it's a hell of a lot harder than she makes it look.

"What people don't see is the sacrifice,” she confessed. “Just trying to figure out how to balance being a mother of a six-year-old and of twins that need me, and giving myself creativity and physically, there's a lot to juggle. It's not like before when I could rehearse 15 hours straight. I have children. I have a husband. I have to take care of my body.”

Still, she found ways to make it work. “I would dance and go off to the trailer and breastfeed the babies, the days I could, I would bring the children."

5. She Seems to Have Passed on Her Performing Gene

BeyoncГ©'s not the only one showing off her skills in Homecoming. Daughter Blue Ivy, 7, also gets a chance to show off her dance moves, singing for the camera as her mom helps her out with the lyrics.

Blue tells viewers: "I wanna do that again. 'Cause it feels good!"
