It's a sad day for Vanderpump Rules fans everywhere - and for, of course, one of the stars of Bravo's hit reality show, Scheana Marie Shay, who filed for divorce from her husband Michael Shay on November 30.

"While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship," the couple told Us Weekly in a joint statement. "Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters. We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other's personal happiness and professional success."

This news comes after an allegedly tumultuous month for the couple. Earlier in November Scheana Marie, 31, became worried when her husband reportedly failed to return home after band practice on November 2 and she was unable to contact him, TMZ reported. A source close to the aspiring singer told the celebrity gossip site that Scheana Marie was afraid her husband may have fallen off the wagon after nearly a year of sobriety following an eight-year addiction to painkillers, which was documented on Vanderpump Rules' previous season.

Michael has combatted those rumors about his disappearance and sobriety. “I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!!” he wrote on Instagram on November 7. “Don't believe everything you read. I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”

Ever the social media presence, Scheana Marie responded to the divorce news on Twitter with a thank you to her fans for their support. "Thank you all for the love today! It's never easy to split with someone you still love, but we will always remain friends. вќ¤пёЏ"

Fans of the show, which centers on the juicy behind-the-scenes drama between Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant staff at SUR, have followed Scheana Marie since the first season, when she was just the waitress who made a big name for herself in the Bravo-lebrity world by sleeping with former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Brandi Glanville's husband (this was prior to her relationship with Michael Shay). She started as an outcast among the other servers, but a few more seasons and a ginormous engagement ring later and every #PumpRules castmember was happily bringing the drama to her epic, televised California wedding.

The Bravo star wed her now estranged husband on July 27, 2014 in a bridal look that was as eye-grabbing as her big personality. Scheana Marie star rocked a curve-hugging, crop-top mermaid gown - featuring a pearl-embellished top and lace skirt - all designed and crafted by her aunt. Scheana posted a photo to her Instagram of the newly-minted Mr. and Mrs. receding from the ceremony with the note: "Yes I wore a 2 piece wedding dress made by my aunt @dmtrian and I LOVE IT!!!"

While Scheana Marie's look was certainly daring, her bridal party, which was made up of a slew of SUR servers, wore more traditional, strapless dresses. Each of the bride's eight lovely ladies donned matching sheer peach empire-waist, floor-length dresses with a crystal-embellished belt and a classic pink-and-ivory rose bouquet.

Just a few months ago, Scheana Marie marked her two-year anniversary with a throwback wedding photo on Instagram, which features the newly wedded Mr. and Mrs. Shay walking up the aisle. "Two years ago I married my best friend. Today, I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life! @mikeshaymusic I love you so much baby! Can't wait to see what the future holds for us! 💏 Happy Anniversary! #croptop"
