Everything's moving super-quickly for Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, but they're reportedly still carving out some time to get a prenuptial agreement. Or so says TMZ, which reported on Friday that the couple are "about" to negotiate a prenup and won't get married until they both sign it. If this seems slightly confusing because of reports you may have read that they're already married, that's because, well, it kind of is.
To recap, last Friday, TMZ and People both reported that Biebwin had made a trip to a courthouse in New York City that issues marriage licenses. But while TMZ reported that they were just there to get a marriage license, People reported that they actually did the damn thing, and are now officially, legally married. (Both sources say that the two are still holding out for an actual wedding ceremony, though.) To make matters even more confusing, Baldwin then tweeted that the "Just Married!" rumors simply aren't true.
“I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I'm not married yet!” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
People, however, stuck to its story that Bieber and Baldwin are, in fact, a married couple in the civil sense, adding that maybe Baldwin just doesn't consider herself married since they haven't taken their vows. She reportedly "feels a civil ceremony and their 'real' wedding are two separate things," a source told People, while a "religious source" told the outlet, “What happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing-a legal thing. But marriage is two people making a vow before God and the people they love.”
But wait, there's more! Us Weekly is also maintaining that they're married, and reported on Sunday that they did not, in fact, get a prenup.
Whether Bieber and Baldwin are actually married, with or without a prenup, one thing's for sure: The actual wedding ceremony is going to be amazing. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” Baldwin told The Cut last Thursday. “I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful.”
